I enjoy working with people from all backgrounds, identities and relationship constellations and I think that discussing differences that are present between the therapist and client is important to being able to work effectively together.

I view therapy as a collaborative effort. I bring knowledge and you bring knowledge and together we will work to identify what would help you move in a healthy direction. I try to enter the room with as much compassion and as little judgment as possible and I encourage you to hold those same things for yourself. Humor helps too. The hope is that through the therapeutic process, each person can identify how past life experiences have impacted your current choices, experiences and world views and how these factors influence how you interact with yourself and others on a daily basis. Please understand this looks different for each individual.

My education and experiences helped me to understand the impact a person's environment can have on their sense of self and provided me with the clinical knowledge to help work to develop insight regarding thoughts, feelings and behaviors that someone is experiencing. With this greater self-awareness comes the ability to change self-limiting patterns and move beyond painful experiences, the capacity for closer and more fulfilling relationships.
