As a member of the LGBTQQI community, there are daily reminders that it’s not always safe to be yourself. Even though the Bay Area is more open and accepting than most places in the country, it can still be hard.

How you identify in terms of your sexuality and gender is probably only one of the many things that make you the interesting and complex person you are today.

The last thing you may want to have to do in therapy is explain your gender or sexuality. Of course issues around gender or sexuality may come up, but chances are you don't want either of them to be the main focus of the work.

There are a number of issues that are specific to our community, such as alternative relationship structures, gay parenting and internalized and externalized homophobia and transphobia.

You may also be wrestling with something that has little or nothing to do with your sexuality or gender.

My approach is patient, warm, and expressive. I’m not afraid of humor, anger or tears. Even if they happen all at the same time.

When we meet you’ll experience someone who is curious about you and genuinely interested in helping you achieve your goals. Our sessions will feel like a conversation and I will actively, passionately be engaged in helping you better understand your emotions and needs.

My role is to see your potential for growth, even if you’re unable to. I am licensed in CO and CA and currently live in Denver, so all my sessions with CA folks are online.

I do offer in-person relationship therapy intensives from my office in Denver.

I look forward to getting to know you.
